Anxiety and stress
When worries, uncertainty or the pressures of everyday life begin to feel overwhelming, therapy can offer a space to explore what's happening, understand your feelings and find ways to navigate difficult experiences.
A space to pause, reflect and be heard
I’m Sue, a psychotherapist offering psychotherapy for adults in Edinbugh New Town / online.
You don't need to have the right words before getting in touch.
Therapy can offer time and space to explore what is happening in your life, with curiosity and without judgement.
A little about me
I’m Sue, a counsellor with a background supporting both children and adults in therapeutic settings.
My practice draws primarily on Compassion-Focused Therapy and existential approaches. I aim to provide a collaborative, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their experiences, develop resilience, and move towards meaningful change.
My work has included providing one-to-one and group interventions for children and young people, parents, individuals affected by domestic abuse, and other vulnerable groups.
How I can help
There are many reasons someone might consider therapy. We can begin with whatever feels most important to you.
When worries, uncertainty or the pressures of everyday life begin to feel overwhelming, therapy can offer a space to explore what's happening, understand your feelings and find ways to navigate difficult experiences.
Relationships can bring both fulfilment and challenges. Therapy offers an opportunity to explore relationship patterns, communication, boundaries and the ways our connections with others affect us.
Life transitions can bring uncertainty, loss and unexpected emotions. Whether facing a new chapter, a significant change or a period of feeling stuck, therapy can help you make sense of your experiences and find your way forward.
There is no one-size-fits-all way to begin.
A space to be heard, understood and accepted as you areMy approach
Originally trained as a person-centered CBT therapist, my practice has evolved to draw primarily on Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) and existential approaches. I aim to provide a collaborative, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their experiences, develop resilience, and move towards meaningful change. I have a particular interest in self-esteem, relationships, cultural identity, and family dynamics. I am passionate about helping clients better understand themselves within the context of their personal histories, relationships, and cultural backgrounds, supporting them to live in ways that feel authentic and meaningful.
